What type of courses are offered by SSN SASE?

SSN SASE offers Carnegie Mellon University's Master of Science in Information Technology degree program (MSIT) with specializations in Software Engineering, (MSIT-SE) and Embedded Software Engineering (MSIT-ESE)

What is the duration of the course?

MSIT is a one and a half year full time residential program. The first year is offered at SSN School of Advanced Software Engineering, Off Chennai. On successful completion of the one-year curriculum in India, the students then proceed to Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburg, USA to complete further studies in six months and obtain the degree.

What is the process of Admission in SSN SASE?

Candidates meeting the basic requirements are called for written test (C-GAT). Short-listed candidates are called for a first round of interview conducted by SSN SASE faculty members. Further short-listed candidates are called for a final interview jointly conducted by SSN SASE and Carnegie Mellon University faculty members. Admission letter is issued by the Carnegie Mellon University.

What are the minimum admission requirements?

The applicant should be a graduate or a postgraduate in engineering with minimum aggregate score of 70%. The candidates should possess valid GRE and TOEFL scores before final interview. Those with project experience and/or software industry experience will have an added advantage.

Is GRE/TOEFL required for admission?

Yes. The candidates should have valid GRE and TOEFL scores at least before they appear for final interview.

What about MCA degree?

MCA is considered as equivalent of B.E. and candidates are eligible to apply.

On what conditions are scholarships awarded to students?

All selected candidates are offered scholarship covering part of the Carnegie Mellon tution fees.

Does SSN SASE arrange for any bank loan?

Bankers come to SSN SASE to offer loans to students. SSN SASE arranges meeting of students and bankers to facilitate loans.

Am I required to stay on campus during the course?

Yes. Being a full time residential program, students are expected to stay on campus during the course.

Does SSN SASE offer part time courses?

No, SSN SASE does not offer any part time courses at present.

Is there an alumni association?

Yes, SSN SASE has a strong and active Alumni network.

How are the placements of the past students?

There has been a 100% placement record for all the batches of students completing the MIST degree. The students have been placed well in companies of high-repute like Microsoft, Oracle, Infosys, Polaris, Satyam etc.

How far is SSN SASE from Chennai city?

SSN Campus is about 40 kms from Chennai city.
