The conference was sponsored by HCL Technologies Limited and Co-sponsored by IEEE, Madras Section.

The Inaugural Session of the conference was held at 9 A.M on 12th July 2007 with Dr.Raj Reddy, Professor, CMU as the chief guest and Mr. Samy Muthusamy, IBM, USA as special guest. Dr.V.S.Arunachalam, Distinguished Service Professor, CMU released the proceedings of the conference. Dr. Shashikant Albal, Director, SSN Institutions gave welcome address. Ms. Kala Vijayakumar, President, SSN Institutions presided over the function.

Panel Discussion
Another Highlight of the conference was the panel discussion on "Propagating education and skill development in high performance computing". Eminent personalities like Dr. Raj Reddy, Professor, CMU, Dr. N. Balakrishnan, Associate Director, IISc, Mr. Samy Muthusamy, Alliances Director, IBM, U.S.A., Dr. David Garlan, Professor, CMU, Mr.M. Rajagopalan, Director, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and Dr. V. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Trichy. The panel members proposed various means to achieve the skill development in the area of high performance computing.

Paper Presentation
The researchers presented their work in the various fields of High Performance Computing. Seven sessions were held to give opportunities for researchers for presentation in the following topics,

  3. ARCHITECTURE
  4. WIRELESS NETWORKS
  5. ALGORITHMS
  6. IMAGE PROCESSING
The papers are included in the proceedings of the conference edited by Dr.Shashikant Albal, Director, SSN Institutions and Dr.C.Aravindan, Assistant Director, SSN Institutions

Valedictory Function
The function was held on 13th July 2007 in which Mr. Samy Muthusamy, Alliances Director, IBM, U.S.A emphasized the need for academia and industry to come together for joint research.

Grand finale
Pre-conference Tutorials
The Pre-conference tutorials were held on 11th July 2007. The Preconference tutorials received overwhelming response and around 170 participants registered for the tutorials which were held on the following topics,
  1. CELL Technology - Mr.Prasenjit Chakraborty, IBM
  2. Grid Computing - Mr.V.Neela Narayanan, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing

Entertainment and Banquet Dinner
