The Trust ‘Shri Sivasubramaniya Nadar Educational and Charitable Trust’ was founded in 1994 by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar and his elder brother (Late) Justice Pratap Singh, a Judge of the Madras High Court. A legal luminary, Justice Pratap Singh dedicated his life to a number of social causes that served the greater good of society. The trust is instituted in honour of their father, (Late) Sri. Sivasubramaniya Nadar. The Trust has established the SSN Institutions. The institutions are run on a not-for-profit basis, and aim to provide the highest quality educational and research facilities for meritorious students belonging to all economic strata.

Arunachalam - Chief Scientific Advisor, SSN Research Centre (Former Scientific Advisor to the Defense Minister, Secretary, DRDO) 5. Prof. R. Natrajan - Member, Research Advisory Council, SSN Research Centre (Former Director IIT Madras, Chairman AICTE) 6. Mr. T.S. Krishnamurthy - Former Chief Election Commissioner, Government of India 7. Mr. T.S. Purushothaman, Consultant – Infrastructure (Board Member – HCL Infosystems, Former COO, HCL Infosystems) 8. Mr. P. Sivaprasad – Advocate High Court Chennai 9. Ms. Kala Vijaykumar - President, SSN Institutions and Ex-Officio Secretary, SSN Institutions Management Board The administrative and professional competence of these members constitutes a source of valuable strength for the accomplishment of the Institutions' goals.
