Ms. Kala Vijayakumar
President, SSN Institutions
Ms. Kala Vijayakumar obtained her
Master of Science degree with specialization in Mathematics with honors
from Stella Maris College, Madras University. She has a mix of
Entrepreneur, IT profession and Academic Management experience. She
worked in the software development projects in HCL technologies,
playing roles like programmer and team leader. Ms. Kala Vijayakumar has
been associated with SSN Institutions from the inception. The
objectives of the institutions are to provide world class education,
create the right type of learning ambience and make the education
affordable to the meritorious students through large number of
scholarships. She is now president of SSN Institutions. She implements
the vision of the founder, Dr. Shiv Nadar by providing day-to-day
management and guidance in running the institutions.

Dr. Shashikant V. Albal
Director, SSN SASE
Dr. Shashikant Albal obtained his PhD in CAD
from IIT, Bombay in 1978. He has a mix of academic, research and
software industry experience. He has worked in variety of roles and
handled responsibilities of training, technology, R&D, and
software project management. He has worked in Tata Consultancy
Services, Mahindra British Telecom, and SYNTEL before joining SSN.
While in MBT, he had worked in association with Carnegie Mellon
University in 1996 and had formed an academic institution.
Besides holding the reigns as a director of SSN SASE
from its inception (Nov 2001), he teaches a number of subjects
including Managing Software Development, Methods of Software
Development, Software Process Definition, Software Measurement, and
Personal Software Process. At present he is also focussing on
utilization of technology advancements in innovative teaching-learning
process. He is fond of pets and indulges in philosophical
reading when time permits.

Dr. C. Aravindan
Assistant Director, SSN SASE
Dr. C. Aravindan obtained his PhD in Computer Science (Knowledge and
Data base updates) from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok,
Thailand in 1995. After completing his PhD he worked at University of
Koblenz, Koblenz,Germany, as a Research scientist from 1995 to 1997. He
then worked at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi, India, as
Professor and Head of Computer Science department from 1998 to 2002.
Aravindan's research interests include logic
programming, soft computing, and high-performance computing. He is
guiding 15 research scholars in these fields. He has completed three
funded projects, and currently investigating two projects. He has
published about 25 papers in international journals and conferences.
Aravindan joined SSN Institutions in July 2002 and presently he is
Assistant Director, SSN SASE. He teaches Models of Software
Systems which is a core course for both MSIT-SE and
MSIT-ESE programs.
Dr. Chitra Babu
Professor and Head, Computer Science and Engineering
Dr. Chitra Babu received her Bachelor's Degree from P.S.G College of
Technology and M.S. from the Ohio State University, USA and Ph.D from
IIT, Madras. She has worked in AT & T Bell Labs, USA. She has
also worked as a consultant in the field of Document imaging and
Management. She has published several papers in the area of object
Technology and sensor works. Her current areas of research are object
behavioral modeling, Software Engineering and Distributed Computing.
Chitra Babu is currently the Head of the Department of
Computer Science and Engineering. She teaches Architecture of Software
Systems which is a core course for both MSIT-SE and MSIT-ESE programs.
Dr. C. Prita Nair
Assistant Professor, Physics
Dr. C. Prita Nair obtained her PhD in physics from IIT, Madras in 1997.
Throughout her education, she has been honored with many academic
awards and scholarships. She has worked on various Research and
Development projects at Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT,
Madras and Ta Devices, Velachery. She has also done short term
consultancy work at Dr. MGR Deemed University, Indian Space Research
Organisation, Southern Railway and DRDO (Ministry of Defense).
Prita Nair has taught at National Institute of
Technology, Advanced Training Institute for Information Technology and
Saveetha Engineering College. At present she is an assistant
professor in the Department of Physics. She guides projects
for MSIT-ESE program.
Prof. V. Balasubramanian
Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering
Prof. Balasubramanian has obtained his M.E. degree in Computer Science
and Engineering from
Anna University, Chennai, in the year 2002. He is currently working as
an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His areas of
expertise are Computer Arcitecture and Mobile Computing. He teaches
Comptuter Architecture, Operating Systems, and
Computer Networks to create the right foundation for the MSIT program.
Prof. P. Vasuki
Senior Lecturer, Information Technology
Prof. Vasuki obtained her Master's degree in Computer Science and
Engineering from the Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, in the year
2000. At present she is pursuing her
doctoral research work on "Emotion identification in Tamil speech",
under the guidance
of Dr. C. Aravindan. She is working as a Senior Lecturer in the
department of Information
Tecbnology, and she teaches Real-Time Operating Systems for MSIT-ESE
program.

Mr. A. Ravindra
Associate General Manager, HCL Technologies
Ravindra Appaswamy Pillai obtained his M.Tech degree from Sri
Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati. He has
extensive industry experience of over 2 decades in telecommunications
and software industry. He has worked in variety of roles and handled
telecom product R&D, switching software, embedded and
application software development. He handled multiples software
projects for various global clients and has in depth software project
management experience. He has worked in Indian Telephone Industries,
Natelco and Invensys before joining HCL. He has keen interest in
technology research, software intensive systems. He has also wide
experience in implementation of various software processes, quality
systems in his career.
Dr. Nitin Swamy
Visteon Corporation
Nitin Swamy received his PhD in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2003, majoring in Control
Systems. He joined the Aeronautical Development Agency in Bangalore,
India as a Scientist where he worked on control laws and flight
simulations for the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft. He worked as
Project Manager with an automotive software company in Chennai, India,
where he was involved in implementing control algorithms for land
vehicles for major international automotive clients. His research
interests include linear and nonlinear control systems, optimal
control, intelligent control, applications of control theory, sensor
networks and real-time embedded applications of control theory. He has
published two IEEE journal papers and has presented technical papers in
several international and national conferences.
Mr. Raj Kumar

Mr. Raj Kumar is an alumni of SSN SASE. He joined the MIST program in
SSN SASE
in 2003 and obtained his MSIT-SE degree in 2005 from Carnegie Mellon
Univerisy. Prior to
joining the MSIT program, he had four years of techning experience. He
is currently working as
Lead - Quality in the Quality Assurance department of HCL Technolgies.
Dr. S. Sivakumar
Software Consultant
Dr. Sivakumar obtained his PhD from IIT, Bombay. He has experience and
expertise in usage of IBM Rational tools in developing software. At
present, he is working as a software consultant.

Dr.
David Garlan
Dr.
Garlan is a Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie
Mellon University, where he leads several research projects and is the
Director of the Master in Software Engineering Programs. He received
his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1987.
Dr. Garlan's research interests
include software architecture, ubiquitous computing, self-adaptive
systems, formal methods, and software development environments.

Dr. Raj Reddy
Dr.
Raj Reddy is Herbert A. Simon University professor of computer science
and robotics in Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests
include the study of human-computer interaction and artificial
intelligence. His research projects include spoken language systems,
gigabit networks, universal digital libraries.

Mr. Mel Rosso-Llopart
Mel
Rosso-Llopart has experience in research and development, managing
project communications, and fiscal project management for large and
small projects. He is also well versed in a variety of computing
environments, has developed large network configurations, and developed
large database applications. Recently Mr. Rosso-Llopart worked for a
local company Adtranz in developing complex embedded software system
for the rail transit industry.
He earned Bachelor's degrees in Physics, Biology, and Computer Science
at the University of California, and holds a Masters of Software
Engineering from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon
University. Mr. Rosso-Llopart is also a registered instructor in PSP
from the Software Engineering Institute.

Mr. Anthony J. Lattanze
Anthony
J. Lattanze is a senior member of the technical staff at the Software
Engineering Institute (SEI), and an Associate Teaching Professor at the
Institute for Software Research International (ISRI) at Carnegie Mellon
University. Mr. Lattanze has been involved in research in the area of
software architecture; particularly in the development of methods and
techniques for defining, documenting, and evaluating software
architectures.
